E.H. Taylor Small Batch is one of my favorite everyday sippers. It can be hard to find in some areas, but fortunately I can find it at a few stores in my area for only $5-$10 above retail. I also make several trips to KY a year and can stop by Buffalo Trace and quite regularly pick up bottles at the gift shop.
E.H. Taylor Small Batch does have a hint of ethanol on the nose that I am not fond of, but it isn’t overpowering. Fortunately, the hint of ethanol doesn’t carry through on the palate or finish. The finish is very smooth and has a touch of marshmallow that I really enjoy and wish would linger just a touch longer.
Overall, if you get a chance to pick E.H. Taylor Small Batch near retail, give it a try. If you can only find it at prices in the $100+ range, I would probably skip on it though. It is a very smooth, flavorful sipper, but I think you can find better alternatives at the higher price points I see for this bottle at some stores.
