Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage 2013 was a bit of a surprise for me. In the Chattanooga, TN area, it isn’t very common to see these bottles on the shelf. When I purchased this bottle the distributor happened to be in store at the time and supposedly, Evan Williams Single Barrels are not going to be shipped to TN any longer. Hopefully, that isn’t the case as this was a decent pour for a low proof single barrel.
Although nicely balanced and pleasant, the nose and flavor profile on this single barrel bourbon is slightly muted, which I have found to be typical of proofed down bourbons. Because of this lower proofing I found the mouthfeel to be slightly watery and it left me wanting a little more substance. But, overall it was a nice, easy sipping, single barrel bourbon.
