With the 10th release in the Jack Daniel’s Distillery Series, comes a straight Tennessee whiskey finished with toasted pecan wood chips. This is the first of the distillery series releases from Jack Daniel’s that I have tried and I have to say that it didn’t disappoint.
From the nose to the finished, there is a nice maple/brown sugar coated nut quality that really shines. Coming it at 120 proof, there is a touch of heat to this one, but not overpowering by any means. There is a tannic value on the finish that I am not particularly fond of. The price is a bit higher than I like, but it is fair for what most distillery’s charge for their experimental expressions. Overall, I think this one is worth a try if you can find it.
